Preconception stage

For women who want to become pregnant, Dr. Lauren provides chiropractic adjustments to get the body in optimal health and positioning for pregnancy. A healthy body means a healthy baby!

In addition, Dr. Lauren provides fertility coaching to women in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. This means she looks intentionally at your overall health, including diet, stress, and sleep patterns. As a fertility coach, Dr. Lauren provides emotional support, since becoming pregnant can feel overwhelming or uncertain. It is her goal to prepare women for the prenatal journey ahead.

Prenatal stage

Chiropractic care during the prenatal stage provides relief for pregnancy discomfort in every trimester. Receiving adjustments allows the body to prepare for labor and delivery. Research has concluded that women who receive routine chiropractic care throughout pregnancy are more likely to experience shorter labor duration. Dr. Lauren Golden is Webster Technique certified.

Many women who invest in chiropractic care during their pregnancy can experience improved quality of sleep and decreased pain and discomfort. Speaking of pregnancy discomfort, Golden Family Chiropractic offers gentle prenatal massage therapy with onsite therapist Christina who is certified to practice prenatal massages for all three trimesters. During pregnancy, many women experience nausea, joint and muscular discomfort, and restless sleep. Prenatal massage can help reduce these complications during a time of physical discomfort. At the end of the pregnancy, Christina is able to perform labor-inducing massages. These massages allow the body to potentially go into labor, as well as providing relaxation to the mother.

If you’re a pregnant woman in Charlotte, North Carolina, be sure to book a prenatal massage with Christina.

Dr. Lauren works with expectant mothers to get them as prepared as possible by offering pregnancy services such as doula consultations, home birth support, and childbirth education classes.  In fact, Dr. Lauren is a DONA birth doula.

Dr. Lauren also offers the “Prepare: Childbirth Education Essentials'' course through Revelle. This online course educates and empowers women as they move towards the birth process. This course goes through labor stages, labor techniques, understanding birth procedures, breastfeeding tips, and more. In addition to offering these courses, Dr. Lauren has a doula consultation to discuss birth, sibling, or postpartum doula support. If you are unaware of the role of a doula, it is someone who supports the mother emotionally and physically before, during, and after pregnancy and childbirth. A doula can serve as a liaison between the mother and the birth team.

Postpartum stage

Once the baby arrives, it is very typical for most of the focus to go into caring for their new life. However, Dr. Lauren is passionate about caring for both mother and baby during this intimate time. Golden Family Chiropractic in Steele Creek, NC offers postpartum pregnancy services which includes chiropractic care, lactation support, birth story processing, and pelvic floor therapy.

Breastfeeding is a learning experience for both mother and baby. Dr. Lauren comes alongside the new mom and her baby to address concerns and talk through any challenges. She observes feedings and gives feedback to help with breastfeeding goals. This support includes an initial meeting and then a follow-up meeting.

Dr. Lauren offers a postpartum consultation to discuss a plan for postpartum care. She also offers birth story listening- which is a type of therapeutic discussion for the mother to process the birth and any traumas that may have occurred.

Pelvic floor therapy is highly beneficial for any woman who has delivered a baby. Common complaints treated in pelvic floor therapy incliude back pain, hip pain, pubic bone pain, urinary leakage, constipation, painful sex, and incicisional pain from cesear birth. This therapy strengthens the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles. If a woman is experiencing pain from delivery or an epistominy, pelvic floor therapy can reduce discomfort. Each patient will be evaluated and given an individualized therapy program to improve their goals.
