What is Chiropractic Care?Chiropractic works with what is already housed inside the body to empower people to express life at 100%. Chiropractic promotes the normal physiological processes of the body to work optimally through the nervous system.
In chiropractic, we are searching for a misalignment in the spine, which is also referred to a subluxation. A subluxation is an interference in the nervous system which leads to nervous system dysfunction. Subluxations are asymptomatic most of the time; however, if left uncorrected, subluxations can cause more serious interruptions in our normal physiological processes. In today’s world this can look like spinal degeneration, chronic fatigue, insomnia, stress overload, systemic dysfunction, chronic pain, headaches/migraines, chronic illness, mental instability, depression, irritability, and overall loss of the normal and efficient physiological processes.
How soon after giving birth can me And my baby come in to be adjusted?When you feel comfortable to come back into the office, Dr. Lauren is comfortable to adjust you! She would prefer to see you 2-6 weeks postpartum, however everyone’s healing process is different and kept into consideration. It is incredibly important to make sure you get your adjustment in post-birth to make sure your pelvis and spine are all in alignment to help speed up recovery.
How often should I get adjusted?The frequency of care is different for every patient. Dr. Lauren puts together a specific care plan for each individual to make sure everyone gets the amount of care they need for their body and health.
Do you take insurance?Unfortunately, no. However, we do accept HSA/FSA payments. Some insurance companies do offer reimbursement, and in that case we will print a super-bill for you to be reimbursed by the insurance company directly. In order to make our care affordable we offer administrative discounts that we wouldn’t be able to with insurance. This allows us to make sure all families have different options to choose from to make sure care is affordable for them and their family.
What happens during my initial assessment?Your initial assessment includes a comprehensive consultation where we go over your health history and concerns, physical exam, postural analysis, spinal examination and if necessary, an adjustment.
How do you adjust a baby?The amount of force you use to test the ripeness of an avocado is the same amount of force I use to adjust a baby! Typically the baby sleeps through the adjustment, it is late light of a touch. There is no “popping” or “cracking” involved. It is extremely safe and gentle.
Is chiropractic care safe for pregnant women?YES! One of the most important times a woman should get adjusted is during her pregnancy. Millions of expectant mothers look to chiropractic for it’s safe, natural and drug-free approach to pain relief and prevention for a healthier, happier pregnancy. From the moment of conception, your body goes through a series of changes. Back, pelvic and postural changes can cause unwanted pain and discomfort. The good news is, chiropractic can help!
Why should my baby and children be adjusted?Just floating in the womb improperly can put stresses on your baby’s neck, head, and spine. This improper position can cause problems later in life for your child. Chiropractic care for infants and children is so important to keep them healthy. Often the birth process itself can be traumatic to your baby’s body. As a result, medicalized interventions cause undue strain on baby, and even a natural birth can cause problems if baby was in an unfavorable position at birth. Therefore there is an enormous amount of stress on your baby’s neck during delivery and this can cause imbalances throughout both the mind and body. Throughout childhood, kids put even more stress on their brain and bodies. Their minds are working overtime taking in and processing all new information and experiences. So, their bodies are under stress by falling from learning to walk, sports and other activities.
